Why it's important to prevent birds from accessing the area under your solar panels

Pigeons

The installation of solar panels is growing in popularity among Australian homeowners as more Australians look for ways to reduce their monthly expenditures. Every month, on average, more than 2,000 solar panels are installed in Australia.

We are not the only ones who profit from the use of solar panels, though. Pigeons have discovered that solar panels make an excellent location to construct nests where they will be shielded from the elements. This may result in nest components washing down the roof, clogging the gutter, and even harming the solar panel itself.

Due to the uric acid in their droppings, birds can also damage your property by leaving them. This means that many building materials, such as stone, metal, and brickwork, can sustain significant damage. Pigeons also carry over110 diseases!

Pigeon droppings itself can spread disease. Once the droppings have dried, they may produce minute airborne particles that may cause respiratory problems. Wearing the appropriate PPE is essential when cleaning bird droppings because of this.

Birds must be kept away from food producers and distributors since many wild birds have the ability to spread diseases that are only spread through contaminated food. Poor food hygiene practices can make it easier for these diseases to spread to people.

Birds may decide to build their nest on your land, which may result in a secondary infestation of insects such as bird mites, ticks, fleas, and beetles. The last thing you want for you and your pets is to have to cope with all the biting, scratching, and crawling sensation from these insects because they can multiply into thousands.
